The term pulsato essentially refers to steady pulse, which embodies the consistency and diligence this honored band director portrayed and the steady force she provided to countless youth through the years. Beginning somewhat minimalistic, with mallets first establishing the steady pulse, it continually gains in momentum, all the while passing steady pulse around the band. The piece eventually ends as a celebratory anthem.
